Which ohmmeter reading indicates a fuse is good?

A reading of 0 ohms on an ohmmeter indicates that there is a continuous path for electrical current, which suggests that the conductive elements of the fuse are intact and undamaged. In simpler terms, this means that the fuse is "good," as it allows current to flow without any resistance.

If an ohmmeter shows resistance values greater than 0 ohms, such as 1 ohm or 10 ohms, it indicates some resistance in the connection, which could imply that the fuse may not be performing optimally, though it might still allow some current to pass. However, this would not confirm that the fuse is fully functional.

On the other hand, if the ohmmeter reads infinity (OL, or open loop), it means there is no continuity, indicating that the fuse is blown and cannot conduct electricity at all. Therefore, the only reading that proves a fuse is operationally sound is 0 ohms, demonstrating that it can successfully complete an electrical circuit.
